Logical Channels

Service provided by MAC to higher layers.
• Defined “what type” of data is transferred.

• Control Channels:

– Broadcast Control Channel (BCCH) (DL)
– Paging Control Channel (PCCH) (DL)
– Dedicated Control Channel (DCCH) (UL&DL): a point-to-point bidirectional channel that transmits dedicated control information between a UE and the network. Established during RRC connection establishment procedure.
– Common Control Channel (CCCH) (UL&DL): a bidirectional channel for transmitting
control information between a UE and the network.

– Dedicated Traffic Channels (DTCH) (UL&DL)
– Common Traffic Channels (CTCH) (DL)
